How to Apply for Financial Aid

 

Financial assistance is available for students taking certain courses through the Continuing Education Department.  Please carefully read the following information about your options.

 

Option 1 – Apply for a Texas Public Education Grant

 

The Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) provides up to $1500 to students who demonstrate financial need.

 

Steps to Apply for Financial Aid for Continuing Education Courses - Texas Public Education Grant

1. Complete the FAFSA Application
   Visit Federal Student Aid to fill out the financial aid application.
   Note: Continuing education students are eligible for the Texas Public Education Grant, up to $1500.
2. Create a Workday Account
   Visit Continuing Education Financial Aid on Workday and set up your account.
   Check your personal email for your login credentials (may take 1-2 business days).
3. Complete the Financial Aid Request Form
   Access the Continuing Education Financial Aid Request Form.
4. Check Your Email
   You will receive an email once your financial aid has been processed (typically 3-5 business days).
5. Register for a Course
   After receiving the email confirmation, call the Continuing Education Student Services Team at 972.985.3711 to register for your course.
    

Option 2 – Apply for a State of Texas Exemption

 

State of Texas Exemptions are available to students based on various criteria. Visit Collin Financial Aid Exemptions for a list of exemption types offered by Collin College. 

 

Steps to Apply for Financial Aid for Continuing Education Courses - State of Texas Exemption

1. Create a Workday Account
   Visit Continuing Education Financial Aid on Workday and set up your account.
   Check your personal email for your login credentials (may take 1-2 business days).
2. Complete the Financial Aid Request Form
   Access the Continuing Education Financial Aid Request Form.
3. Submit Your Exemption Request in Workday
   Sign in to Workday.
   Search for “Create Request” and select the exemption type for which you’re applying.
   Complete and submit the request.
4. Check Your Email
   You will receive an email once your financial aid has been processed.
5. Register for a Course
   After receiving the email confirmation, call the Continuing Education Student Services Team at 972.985.3711 to register for your course.
